Triangle Soccer Development is a newly formed non-profit organization dedicated to the education and development of the game of soccer, and the wellness for athletes in the greater Triangle area. As land becomes scarce in the Triangle, convenient athletic field locations have become increasingly difficult to find. All open space sports are feeling the crunch of limited fields, with many participants vying for the same space. Consequently, existing fields have inadequate rest time and cannot be properly maintained, leaving them in poor condition.
TSD plans to alleviate some of these issues by planning, funding and developing a new athletic complex in the Triangle area. Additionally, TSD will promote the sport of soccer by offering educational programming to introduce the sport and to improve the skills and knowledge of existing players. In the future, TSD has plans to submit a bid to host the annual North Carolina Adult Soccer Association State Cup at the new facility. In addition, the new venue will be the site of the future annual "Triangle Cup" for adult soccer enthusiasts throughout the southeastern region of the US .
